Rev. Dr. C. Philip Chacko is a native of South India. His Christian heritage begins with the Apostle Thomas (Doubting Thomas) who established churches in South India. He is a graduate of Southern Asia Bible College, Bangalore, India, and Oral Robert’s University of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He did his post graduate studies at Texas Christian University and received both Masters and Doctorate.
Dr. Chacko served as Youth Minister of River Oaks United Methodist Church in Fort Worth, Texas and as Associate Minister of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville, Texas, before ordained by the First Christian Church of Crockett, Texas and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1976. He served First Christian Church of Crockett, Texas, 5 years and Hillside – Memorial Christian Church of Fort Worth, Texas for 17 years. He was called to serve as Area Minister of the Christian Churches in the Northeast Area of the Southwest Region. In this capacity he looked after 64 congregations in 35 counties. After nine years of Area Ministry he took early retirement in 2006 and accepted the call to serve First Christian Church of Kaufman, Texas. He started the ministry with 13 people determined to build up an authentic church. The church has not only growing in membership but also growing as an authentic community of faith.
His messages are positive and powerful. He has published congregational worship resources: “Love on the Cross”, “Forty Days With Jesus” “Women of The Cross” “Follow the Positive Jesus” “Fifty Days to Power”. He is well known for his devotional writings. His theme is the “Love of God.” He points out that ordinary people can be connected with the invisible reality of God and draw the Creative Power of God for any situations of life. He believes in the positive power of the Word of God.
